Maavarim
Civil Engineering Ltd. was established in 1995 by two former
senior officers of the Israeli Defense Forces. Maavarim utilized
the officers' extensive military experience in explosives,
demining and unexploded ordnance (UXO) clearance in order
to master in its field. At Maavarim, expertise is achieved
not only by employing highly skilled personnel, but also by
utilizing sophisticated equipment, and executing projects
with 100% safety and quality. Maavarim is now the leading
Israeli firm for demining, EOD, and Detection Dog services;
it conducts projects in Israel, Balkans, Africa, central Asia,
the Middle East and other areas in the world. Maavarim is
ISO 9002 certified and a recognized contractor and defense
exporter for the Israeli Ministry of Defense (SIBAT No. 100-62540)
and UN member (Supplier No. IL-0034).

As the leading Israeli firm for mine clearance,
Maavarim uses dynamic methods in this area or a combination
of these methods depending on requirements of each area or
site. These methods include the use of mechanical equipment
of many kinds, manual demining and explosive detection dogs.
Maavarim operates according to a strict SOP (Standard Operation
Procedures), which complies with the UN standards achieving
99.6% of cleared area as specified. By means of merging between
our civilian and military experience each with its unique
expertise and emphasis enables us to conduct high performance
demining activities.

Maavarim's EOD division operates projects
of ordnance neutralization and disposal mainly for Israeli
MOD, but for other clients as well. The main task of this
division is EOD, however it involves neutralization of booby
traps in civilian surrounding and detecting deep ammunition
such as bombs or shells, and disposal on site. All personnel
in this division served in the IDF's EOD unit, having years
of military and civilian experience. Maavarim's EOD division
works in accordance with safety rules and regulations that
comply with the IDF's regulations and other international
standards.
The division owns high sophisticated equipment, from the simplest
protective equipment to the most innovated electronic tools
that detect ammunition in great depths and special devices
for ammunition neutralization. The equipment ensures the company's
safety and positive results. Of course the techniques used
are various, changing in accordance to the ammunition disposed:
detonating, burning, dismantling and neutralizing' or using
an incinerator.

Maavarim trains and operates Detection
Dogs in a wide range of areas: open fields, residential/industrial
areas, searching personal luggage and vehicles of all kinds.
Although most of the dogs are instructed to detect explosives
due to the high demand in the world and particularly in Israel,
Maavarim trains dogs for other purposes as well according
to the customer's request. Other uses may include drug detection
dogs, search & rescue dogs, investigative dogs, and security
dogs.
Maavarim can supply trained dogs at any level required; our
customer will own the dog at the end of the process. Together
with supplying dogs, we train personnel in order to receive
the most advanced techniques and knowledge that will enable
them to maintain the dogs' capabilities over the course of
time. In addition, Maavarim can provide a full service of
dog Detection, with Maavarim's personnel and dogs, while Maavarim
takes care of all logistics. And, of course, the service is
professional and genuine.
